Aduana Stars winger Richard Mpong has mentioned that he felt nothing playing against his former employers Asante Kotoko in the G-6 Invitational Tournament.

Mpong has ben a player of Asante Kotoko for the past three years and joined Aduana Stars during the transfer window. He played against Kotoko in the final of the G-6 competition, a match Kotoko won by a lone goal.

“It didn’t feel anything playing against them or Medeama. I was just doing my job as a player and too bad we lost on the day. For me, matches against former Clubs is normal, no exceptional feeling or the need to prove a point. Those things tend to take your mind off the game and sometimes you become selfish”, Mpong told ghanafootballnews.com.

For him, the G-6 afforded him them the opportunity to try outcome new players they had in the team like himself, adding that they were not really saddened by their inability to win the ultimate.

“If out of six teams we ended up second, I feel it’s a good start for us this year and we expect greater things in the coming season.”
