Players must understand playing for the Black Stars is a blessing - Kurt Okraku

Ghana Football Association President, Kurt Okraku says one of the major objectives of his administration is to create a conducive environment for patriotism, commitment and hunger to thrive in the various national teams.

Okraku has been at the helm of affairs for seven months and like every Ghanaian, his biggest wish is to see the various national teams conquer not only the continent but Africa at large.

To make real his dream, Kurt and his team of administrators must ensure that all those connected to the team appreciate what it means to play for your national team.

With specific to the Black Stars, members of the team’s underachievement has been linked to an unpatriotic attitude of the players.

Kurt tells GhanaWeb one of his core objectives is to make the players and coaching staff realize that talent alone is not enough to achieve success for your nation.

Innate desire to succeed and hunger must be the stimulating factors for anyone who associates himself with the four-time AFCON winners.

“Our Black Stars struggled at the last AFCON. Perhaps our worst performance in the last two decades. It is very clear that we needed to build a team that is very strong, that believes that representing your country is the best blessing you can ever have”.

“We need to find players who will be one million percent dedicated to the national course. It is very clear we need to raise the adrenaline level of everybody involved in the Black Stars to ensure that we become conquerors.
