European football expert, Reuben Obodai brings you a comprehensive update on how Ghanaian players performed in abroad this weekend.

Frank Acheampong continues to perform and hit the back of the net for Tianjin Teda in the Chinese Super League as he bagged another brace this weekend - which made him one of the top three scorers in the league.

Baba Rahman returned from a long injury layoff to warm the bench for Schalke 04 as they made a return to the Champions League since 2014/15 season after a victory at Augsburg.

Majeed Waris also secured his first title in abroad with FC Porto but the striker will definitely not be delighted with the number of games he churned out for the Dragons in their title triumph campaign.

Ropapa Mensah made it two out of two for Nashville in the American lower-tier division. The former Inter Allies striker is following the remarkable scoring feat of Solomon Asante in the division.

Elsewhere, Joseph Paintsil returned from injury to play full throttle for Ferenvarosi in their draw at Videoton.

ENGLAND

Jeffrey Schlupp made a cameo appearance for Crystal Palace as they came back from a goal down to stun Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium – a result which effectively ended the Potters 10-year stay in the English Premier League.

Christian Atsu missed Newcastle United 2-1 loss against Watford at the Vicarage Road through injury. The flying winger will play again this season as confirmed by the club after undergoing a successful operation.

Daniel Amartey was left out of Leicester City match day squad despite returning from injury last week – The Foxes lost the game 2-0 against West Ham.

Collins Quaner warmed the bench for Huddersfield in their goalless draw at champions Manchester City.

GERMANY

Defender Joseph Baffo missed Eintracht Brauschweig 2-0 loss against Ingolstadt through injury. Steffen Nkansah was left out of Braunschweig squad.

Christopher Antwi-Adjei netted for Paderbon in their 3-1 win over SV Wehen. Agyemang Diawusie also lasted 90 minutes for the losers while Kwame Yeboah missed the game for the victors through injury. Michael Akoto was left out of the losers squad.

Former Tema Youth striker Jonathan Osabutey made a cameo appearance for Werder Bremen II in their 1-1 draw at VfL Osnabruck. Marcel Appiah warmed the bench for Osnabruck.
