However, plenty of Ghanaian players were involved in matches as Mahatma Otoo kept up his great run of scoring form and a couple of goals from a few number of players. Reuben Obodai has a lowdown on how Ghanaian players fared across the globe over the weekend.

ENGLAND

In the Championship, Phil Ofosu-Ayeh missed the Wolverhampton Wanderers 1-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday through injury.

Albert Adomah played full throttle for Aston Villa in their 2-0 defeat at Derby County.

Andy Yiadom lasted full action for Barnsley in their goalless draw at Brentford.

Caleb Ekubanmissed Leeds United 1-0 win over Norwich City through injury.

Dennis Odoi warmed the bench for Fulham FC in their 1-0 defeat against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light.

In League One, Kwesi Appiah returned from a long injury layoff to make a cameo appearance for AFC Wimbledon in their 4-0 thumping against Wigan Athletic.

Joe Dodoo warmed the bench for Charlton Athletic in their 2-0 loss at Blackburn Rovers. Tarique Fosu missed the game for the Addicks through injury.

In League Two, Hiram Boateng played full action for Exeter City in their 2-1 win over Stevenage.

Midfielder Nortei Nortey played full minutes for Dover Athletic in their 3-0 win over Eastbourne Borough in the FA Trophy Round of 32.

Nana Ofori Twumasiscored for Maidestone in their 4-0 victory against Torquay in the FA Trophy Round of 32.

SPAIN

Thomas Partey picked a booking for Atletico Madrid in the 1-0 win against Deportivo Alaves.

Mubarak Wakaso was an unused substitute for the losers.

Emmanuel Boateng was not added to Levante squad that played out a goalless draw at Sevilla.

In the Segunda Division, Yaw Yeboah picked a direct red card for Real Oviedo in their 1-0 win at Sevilla FC B. Owusu Kwabena warmed the bench for the winners.

ITALY

Afriyie Acquah warmed the bench for Torino in their 3-1 loss against Napoli. Isaac Cofie delivered for Genoa in their goalless draw against Fiorentina at the Artemio Franchi.

Godfred Donsah again turned on a great performance for Torino despite their 3-0 loss to Juventus at home. Kwadwo Asamoah was an unused substitute for the Old Lady.

Rahman Chibsah lasted 741 minutes for Benevento Calcio in their 2-1 loss against SPAL. Bright Gyamfi warmed the bench for the Witches.

Alfred Duncan enjoyed full action for Sassuolo as they inflicted a 1-0 defeat on Sampdoria. There was no place for Claud Adjapong in Sassuolo match day squad.

Abdul Majeed Waris was not included in Lorient squad that played put a 2-2 draw at Bourg Peronnas. He was spotted at the Emirates Stadium watching Arsenal play against Newcastle United.

Lawrence Ati-Zigi warmed the bench as usual for Sochaux in their 2-0 win at Clermont.

Ebenezer Assifuah opened the scoring for Le Havre in their 2-1 win against Niort.

Grejohn Kyei made a cameo appearance for Stade Reims in their 5-1 win over Valenciennes.

GERMANY

Ebenezer Ofori was not included in VfL Stuttgart 1-0 loss to Bayern Munich while Okyere Wreidt also faced the same fate with the Bavarian giants.

Daniel Opare suffered a 34th minute injury in Augsburg 3-3 draw with Freiburg. Kevin-Prince Boateng captained Eintracht Frankfurt in their 2-2 draw against Schalke 04.

Defender Joseph Baffo missed Eintracht Brauschweig 1-0 defeat against Dusseldorf through injury. Steffen Nkansah lasted warmed the bench for Braunschweig.

AUSTRIA

Bernard Tekpetey made a cameo appearance for Altach in their 3-1 loss at Admira.

Kadiri Mohammed played 90 minutes of action for Austria Vienna as they pipped Sturm Graz 1-0 at home.

David Atanga and Samuel Tetteh spent the entire duration of the game on the bench as Red Bull Salzburg played out a goalless draw with LASK Linz.

BELGIUM

Nana Akwesi Asare picked a booking but lasted full period for KAA Gent in their goalless draw with Standard Liege.

Eric Ocansey lasted 79 minutes for KAS Eupen in their 0-0 stalemate with Sint Truiden. Samuel Owusu meanwhile, played full throttle for Sint Truiden but there was no place for goalkeeper Abdul Manaf-Nurudeen on Eupen bench.
