Asante Kotoko goalkeeper Felix Annan says there only way player exodus can be curtailed is if clubs are able to afford a minimum of $1000 for players in the domestic scene.

The mass exodus of players in the domestic top-flight league has affected the standard of the Ghana Premier League and also the performance of Ghanaian teams in Africa.

Most players who turn out to perform well join other clubs on the continent or move to Europe.

Speaking on why Ghanaian players move out every season Felix Annan said:“Ghana has a lot of talent and if players are paid a minimum of $1000 then the players will be able to stay for about four to five years before leaving abroad".

He added that if players stay longer in the league the teams will be able to compete in Africa club competition.

“If the players also stay in the league for long, we will be able to compete with clubs from other countries that we have always wanted”.

Ghana has been ranked as the second exporter of footballers by a survey conducted by CIES report released this year.
