Ghana striker Patrick Twumasi and his young family were threatened after armed robbers raided their home in his native country on Monday.

Twumasi, who plays for Kazakh side Astana FC, endured a hellish and nightmarish time during the horrific ordeal at his East Legon residence.

The 22-year-old is currently in his native Ghana on holiday after helping Astana to clinch the Kazakh Premier League crown.

The Ghanaian forward was unhurt but he and his wife are reported to be 'shaken' following the attack by the thugs.

The robbers made away with cash and other valuable items.

“They attacked me and made away with several items, they pointed a gun at me and my family and I had no option than to allow them take whatever they wanted,” he is quoted by ghanasportsonline

“They threatened to kill my family and I and made away with all the money in the house.”

The Legon Police has launched a hunt for the thugs.
