Partey misses out on champions League glory

Ghanaian youngster Thomas Partey missed out on winning the UEFA champions League trophy after his side lost 4-5 to Real Madrid on Penalties.

Madrid took the lead through Sergio Ramos after Garth Bale had flicked a ball his direction.

Atletico Madrid equalized through Carrasco with twelve minutes to go.

Partey was given the last seven minutes of extra time to add steel to the Atletico Madrid Midfield.

But Real will eventually emerge as the winners after capitalizing on a Juafran miss in the penalty shoot out to to secure their 11th Champions League trophy.

Partey was looking to become only the 6th Ghanaian footballer to have won the UEFA Champions League, following in the footsteps of Ibrahim Tanko, Abedi Pele, Samuel Osei Kuffour, Michael Essien and Sulley Muntari.
