Paper work slows Boateng switch

Fifa is awaiting documents confirming the Ghanaian descent of midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng before ratifying his nationality switch to play for the Black Stars.

The 22-year-old was born in German to a Ghanaian father but FIFA says he has scanty details on his father's status as a native of the West African country.

He as already played for Germany as a junior international and seeking for a switch with the Africa Nations Cup and the World Cup finals around next year.

"It is the personal details of his father that was holding it down but we should get that sorted out by today,” Randy Abbey spokesman for the GFA told kickoffGhana.com.

"What I don’t know is whether we can finish that with Fifa before the Christmas break."

Ghana coach Milovan Rajevac is set for talks with the Portsmouth player who has impressed at the club he joined this term.
