Paintsil wants potency upfront

John Paintsil says Ghana must learn to take her chances after setting up a meeting against the United States in the second round of the 2010 World Cup.

The Black Stars drew blank against Germany in their 0-1 loss at Soccer City in Johannesburg despite creating several gilt edged opportunities.

Asamoah Gyan had a header cleared off the line, Manuel Neaur produced a good save from Kwadwo Asamoah in the second half while Dede Ayew took one touch too many when set up by Kevin-Prince Boateng, before Philipp Lahm produced a brilliant tackle to deny Dede again.

“If we had taken our chances there is no reason we should have lost today,” Paintsil told KickOffGhana.com.

“We created so many opportunities and even though we are through the dressing room was a dull place after the game.

"The guys know however that there is another chance to put that right against the USA. We beat them four years ago but it will count for nothing. On the day we have to play better and clever and hopefully take our chances."
