Paha counting on improved Queens

Accra, Feb. 20, GNA -Black Queens trainer, Isaac Paha is counting on his improved team to defeat Ivory Coast when they cross swords in an African Women Championship (AWC) qualifier in Abidjan on Saturday.

The team departs Accra for the duel on Thursday and the coach insists his charges have done many things to become victorious on Saturday.

He said the team's build up to the match was intensified in many ways and they were hoping to translate everything on the pitch to squeeze out a fine result that would boost their confidence for their Olympic Games qualifier with Nigeria mid next month. Coach Paha told GNA Sports the Queens' rate qualification to the next AWC very high and would put everything into Sunday's game to get a win.

Though the coach has no knowledge about the opponents, he said he had strategized well for the Ivorians. The Queens, ranked second in Africa are chasing qualification to the biennial competition where they yearn to win their first gold in six appearances.
