POEM: Great Ghana, Your Great Victory

Oh great Ghana! The nation of my birth, my youth, and the inspiration for my growth, A nation endowed with fineries and great talents.

Your talents, from academics to art and sports are renowned and significantly celebrated.

So many times you have celebrated fame and joy by the tireless efforts of your children, So many times your children have trumpeted behind you with joy and merry-making Today is no exception, as you host the 26th African Cup of nations on your beautiful soil.

Visitors, strangers, participants and competitors alike will witness your great qualities, Among them, your uncontested hospitality displayed through kindness and God fearing, Your eagerness to please your friends and visitors will be comprehended and cherished

During this month long tournament, amidst the many entertainments and celebrations

That your children will no doubt display with dignity and pride.

However, there is one thing that you will not compromise,

And that is the one thing that may upset your friends and visitors alike,

But bring joy, dignity and pride to your children for all that they have to go through

To make this tournament a success ? your undeniable victory.
