The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Bechem United FC, Kingsley Osei-Bonsu, has said his players have been trained in such a way that they are a good fit for foreign clubs than local ones.
“Football has changed a lot so far as the Ghanaian terrain is concerned. We have built our players in a way that they will attract a lot of foreign clubs. I am not in any way saying Ghanaian clubs cannot purchase our players, but what I want to emphasise is that our players are more suited to foreign clubs than local clubs,” he told Class Sports’ Hussein Hassan.
The Brong Ahafo-based club will play in the CAF Confederation Cup next season by virtue of winning the FA Cup. According to Mr Osei-Bonsu, the club has the capacity of juggling league football and continental competition.
“Definitely our venture into Africa will affect us next season one way or the other. A perfect example is Medeama SC, who I think could have challenged for the league title if it wasn’t for the fact they were involved in continental action. We are, however, going to buy players who will help us juggle both activities, so I believe we will cope well,” he said.
