Footy-ghana.com understands that the Executive Board Chairman of Asante Kotoko, Dr. Kofi Kodua Sarpong is set to receive a fresh two-year mandate to run the club.
According to footy-ghana.com investigations, the club’s owner, Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, will hand Dr. Sarpong the mandate at the end of the season in recognition for the work done so far since he joined the club.
Dr. Sarpong has been Asante Kotoko’s chief executive over the last three seasons, during which Asante Kotoko reached the 2011 MTN FA Cup final and won the Premier League the following season.
Dr. Sarpong, who came under fire after Asante Kotoko’s elimination from the CAF Champions League by Algeria’s JSM Bejaia, is also credited with the initiation of a multi-purpose building project for players and technical staff of the team at Adako Jachie, as well as the institution of a separate Board of Directors for the club’s fledging youth project.
