Otto Addo's Injury Not Career Threatening

Black Stars midfielder Otto Addo had every reason to smile yesterday after doctors confirmed that the injury he sustained last Wednesday is not career threatening.

The Straubinger knee specialist Dr. Heinz Heinz-Juergen revealed yesterday that the 28 year old player has good chances of playing football again after the outcome of preliminary tests on the cruciate knee ligament was made public.

The Ghanaian player of Borussia Dortmund responded with delight by saying : ‘ I am confident because the physician has granted me good chances and I am looking forward to coming back to the field and doing what I know best’ according a German website.

Dr. Heinz Heinz-Juergen said he will need six weeks of treatment to determine if Addo should go an operation.” If an operation is necessary then Addo must contend with sitting out for one year to recuperate. But an end to his footballing career is out of the question” the German doctor added.

Talk of Otto Addo ending his football career heightened last week in the wake of the injury he sustained in Dortmond’s 2-1 defeat of Austria Vienna in the UEFA CUP competition.
