Otto Addo Undergoes Successful Operation

Black Stars midfielder Otto Addo has undergone a successful cruciate ligament surgery following an injury he suffered in Borussia Dortmund?s Uefa Cup tie against Vienna on 24 September 2003.

This was confirmed by the captain of the Black Stars Stephen Appiah after the operation in the German city of Bad Griesbach.

Speaking to GHANAWEB in an interview this afternoon, Appiah said: ?I called Otto after training in the morning to wish him good luck in the operation but the operation had already started. As I could not speak him I left 3 messages on his phone, conveying the prayers of Ghanaians to him.?

The Borussia Dortmund midfielder returned the call late last night saying: ?I am happy to inform you that the operation was successful.?

Otto Addo expressed his delight at the Black Stars skipper joining Juventus and said ?I am proud that you have made it to the first team of Juventus, and I know you an extremely talented and gifted footballer.?

The Germany based midfielder commiserated with Appiah over Juventus?s elimination from the UEFA Champions League.

Meanwhile Stephen Appiah has confirmed that he will travel to Germany soon to visit Otto Addo and give him support. He said I am yet to fix a date with Otto but I am sure it will be soon.?
