Technical Director of the Ghana Football Association Mr. Francis Oti Akenteng wants Avram Grant to lead the Ghana Black stars at the African Cup of Nation 2017 at Equatorial Guinea.

The future of Avram Grant has been up in the air for a couple of months now and with the Black Stars of Ghana in real danger of missing out on the 2018 world Cup in Russia, many have called for Grant to be sacked.

But the technical director thinks there is no reason to rush in any decision now in sacking the Israelis.

''I think it will not be wise, honestly, if we rush into such a decision…. why don’t we take our time, we gave the man a target, let’s see…the first one he did it, and we have asked him to go and win the AFCON (2017), he hasn’t gone yet, and you say we have sacked him, on what basis are you sacking him,'' he told Empire FM

''We are all elite people, we are all very knowledgeable, and we know that the coach is under contract…and I will be very surprised.

''I don’t know if we have money to be able to offset these things and also to go into battle of this nature when we have an important assignment ahead of us.''
