Osei Gyan inks new deal at Halmstad BK

Ghanaian international midfielder King Osei Gyan has signed a fresh two-year-contract extension for Swedish side Halmstad BK, GHANAsoccernet.com can confirm.

The 25-year-old who is capped once by the Black Stars put pen to paper on Saturday afternoon to tie him to a new deal until 2016 at the club where he played the entire of the just ended Swedish season.

Gyan joined Halmstad from Norwegian Eliteserien side Viking last season and played an influential role in central midfield to help them remain in the Allsvenskan.

The former Right to Dream Academy graduate expressed his delight after inking the deal.

“Of course, it has taken time, but it has nothing to do that I am not loyal to the Club. I’ve known that I want to stay anyway since I met Jamie J and talked to him,” he said.

He completed 24 games in 28 starts last season for Halmstad and will be at the club with Swedish-born of Ghanaian descent Joseph Baffo who has expressed interest in playing for Ghana.
