Opoku Nti relieved off his duties?

Reports emanating from the Ashanti regions that The Manhyia palace, owners of Kumasi Asante Kotoko has relieved General Manager of the club, Opoku Nti off his duties.

According to Ultimate Sports, the current Board and management of Asante Kotoko will be dissolved to be replaced by Entrepreneur Dr Kwaku Frimpong (Champion Divine) in the course of this week.

The source revealed that the board and management led by Lawyer Paul Adu Gyamfi and Opoku Nti respectively will meet the Owner and life Patron of Asante Kotoko, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II at Manhyia on Tuesday where the King of the Ashanti Kingdom is expected to express his appreciation to them for steering affairs of the club for the past two football seasons.

Their tenure will be brought to an end thereafter.

The dissolution of the current administration will be followed by the appointment of Business Mogul and Entrepreneur Dr Kwaku Frimpong(Champion ) who owns a number of business entities including Champion Hospital, Champion Hotel, and Champion TV. Dr Kwaku Frimpong has been one of the major Financial Donors of the Kumasi-based club for some years now.

There has been a lot of speculation on the future of the Opoku Nti-led management with Ex-Ghana international Sammy Kuffour linked to the job after he confirmed an approach from Manhyia on a TV interview at the end of last season’s Ghana League.
