Olympics relegation survival mission caged

Heart of Lions did themselves a great deal of service when they secured all points at the Kpando Sports Stadium to keep their relegation survival mission on a positive note.

Goals from Prince Acquah and Hudu Yakubu in the first half were enough to lift Yussif Abubakar boys further above the relegation drop.

It was an interesting afternoon in the penultimate match of the 2014 /2015 season at the Kpando park, with the stadium parked to capacity. The game was arguably the top liner of week 29 matches considering the position of both teams and it served the spectators present witnessed an encounter worth their money.

Lions were first to threaten Olympics with blistering right drifting run by Hudu Yakubu resulting in a corner. Olympics defended gallantly in the box. Tanko was bought down in the box, Heart of Lions appealed for a penalty, but referee had none of that.

Olympics regrouped and took the game to Lions who settled to physical approach to keep their opponents at abay. The game became a cagey encounter with individual battles dominating the action.

The individual battles headlines soon changed when Lions had a penalty.
Dan Quaye bamboozled Hudu off the ball, and Prince Acquah made no mistake from the spot, beating Richard Kingston from 12 yards.
It was Prince Acquah's sixth goal of the season, his fourth from the penalty spot, given him hundred percent success.

Olympics responded to the set back with good team play, dominating possession and dictating play, but Lions kept resolute.
Yussif Abubakar boys registered their second goal of the game from approximately 25 yards when Hudu Yakubu free-kick wickedly deflected to beat Kingston the second time of the afternoon with on a minute before recess.

After the break Lions continued from where they left off. Yamoah should have made it 3 when he was presented a great opportunity by Acquah, but he fluffed to keep the shoreline minimal for Olympics to fight.
Olympics kept pushing for the needed energy required to give themselves a lift in the game.

Their persistent efforts resulted to naught and the team looked frustrated, misplacing and giving away possession at ease.
Lions became more confident and held on to lift themselves above the relegation drop with only a game to draw the curtain on the season.
