Olympic Day Run fixed for July 31

Accra, July 21, GNA - The Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) will on July 31, organise an Olympic Day Run at the Accra Sports Stadium. The ten-kilometre non-competitive race will start from the Nkrumah Circle through the Danquah Circle and would end at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The event which marks the founding of the present-day Olympic movement and its universal principles of promoting peace, excellence, friendliness, and fair play through sports is open to all category of people such as men and women, girls and boys and the physically challenged.

Members of the public who are interested in participating in the Coca Cola sponsored event are expected to register at the Mass Sports office at the Accra Sports Stadium and the Sports Development Office at the Greater Regional Administration.

A Press Release signed by Mr B.R. Ayisi, Administrative Manager of the GOC copied to the GNA Sports said the Olympic Day Run, "Is a great fun event and participants may either walk, run or jog along the entire stretch."
