Okocha happy with life in Israel

sreal-based Samad Okocha says he is at peace with life in Israel after claims by Laryea Kingston that he quit the League out of fear for his life.

Okocha has spent five seasons in Israel, and is currently on the books of Happoel Rabat where he says life is nothing like the what Kingston so graphically portrayed in an interview this week.

He told KickOffGhana: "Kingston's club was close to Gaza so he had to live with certain situations but not me.

"I play for a club in the capital and for five years I have lived a very happy life in Israel. I go about peacefully with no threat to my life. I have really loved life in Israel."

Okocha's assement is a world away from the horror picture of life as a footballer in Israel that Kingson created.

“I signed a two-year deal but it was just not safe there [in Israel]. We had bombs and rockets and everything going off because it’s close to the Gaza strip.

“It was very dangerous for me and my family so I told them to cancel the contract and I came back to Accra.

“Every few days there were rockets from Gaza landing in the city I was staying in. It was so dangerous for me and my family so I decided to move," Kingston said.
