OLY BURY RTU

With three first half goals in a 15-minute blitz, Accra great Olympics yesterday underscored their wonder prowess when they beat league leaders Real tamale United with an astounding 4-0 victory in their once postponed ABC Brewery league match played at the Accra Stadium, putting the league title hope of RTU in a tight corner. Perhaps, what did the trick for the Dade boys was the dreaded fact that a third consecutive loss would have put their lives in danger from their vociferous supporters, added to there run of starlets' captain Godwin Attram and Dan Quaye which beefed up the team.

Attram announced his return from Botswana with his second hat-trick within three weeks (the first during the Botswana Under 17Youth tourney) which coasted Oly to record their highest win in the premiership as well as ensure a giant killing feat. Ofosu Peasare who was very instrumental in all Oly's goals opened the floodgates for his side when a long searching ball from the right wing saw him out-jump the RTU defenders to nod home the first goal. Barely five minutes had elapsed when Olympics Aziz Ansah missed a penalty after Peasare had been heavily brought down by Mohammed Alhassan. However, in the 40th minute, Attram after receiving a pass from Ben Adjei chested coolly and hit a left footed shot past RTU's Muniru Musah to get the second for Oly.

It was a one-way traffic then as the RTU boys were simply bemused by the combination of Attram Peasare and Godwin Arthur Tay. With just a minute to end the first break, Attram hit a s superb curling freekick to register his personal second and third for Oly after Peasare had been fouled outside the box.

The second half saw RTU kicking off strongly with as much as five corners to all no vail. In the 66th minute an intelligent defence-splitting pass from Awuley Quaye Junior found Attram who rounded off substitute keeper Justice Quarcoo to shoot into the empty net ending an afternoon of smile for the Oly supporters. RTU in the dying minutes could have got a consolation but Sulley Mohammed and Abass Iddrisu miskicked in front of goal. Graphic
