Nyarko enjoying international stage

Patrick Nyarko is hoping to leave an impression when he gets to play for Ghana in the friendly on Wednesday night at the PPL Park against Chile.

The Chicago Fire forward won his first call up into the Black Stars squad as a late addition on Tuesday following the withdrawals of Andre and brother, Jordan Ayew due to injury.

“It’s a last minute thing,” Nyarko said after receiving his late invitation.

The speedy 26 year-old forward says he’s living in the moment with his international future and hopes to secure his first cap with Ghana.

“I really wasn’t expecting it but it came and its really exciting. Anytime you get called into your national camp it’s an amazing feeling,” he said.

“I’m just taking it all in right now and hopefully I can get on the field Wednesday and help my country win against Chile.”
