Nyarko Considering Retirement

Former Ghana international Alex Nyarko is on the verge of quitting professional football. The midfielder, who currently plays for French side Paris Saint Germain, has informed both club president Laurent Perpere and manager Luis Fernandez of his intentions, according to French daily Le Parisen.

The 29-year-old has missed training recently, due to a combination of physical and emotional troubles, and has had a succession of meetings with club officials this week.

One of the reasons for Nyarko’s dissatisfaction is believed to be PSG?s decision not to purchase him outright from Everton when his one-year loan deals finishes at the end of the season.
Everton have asked for around ?3 million for the player, but PSG are unwilling to pay so much for a man approaching 30.
Nyarko had a difficult time at Everton, most notably being verbally abused by an Everton fan who ran onto the pitch to berate him in a game against Arsenal.
After that incident Nyarko also announced his intention to retire, only to change his mind and carry on playing.
He quit playing for Ghana in 2001 for reasons he said he could not make public.
Now the star seems set to end a career that has been as troubled as it has successful.
