Nyaho calls for return of Ayew brothers

Former GFA boss, Dr. Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe insists there needs to be a massive shake-up of player exclusion and injection in the Black Stars if the national team are to realize the 2014 FIFA World Cup dream.

The outspoken Nyaho tells 90 MINUTES other player alternatives like Jordan and Dede Ayew, Kevin Prince Boateng and others could still be exploited for the benefit of the Black Stars because the team that went to the 2013 CAF Africa Cup of Nations was not good enough.

“We have to look very carefully at not just the technical team but the players as well because I think the sort of players we have don’t have enough quality,” Nyaho told 90 MINUTES exclusively.

He continued: “We have to inject quality players to improve their output. The Ayew brothers have to return, that is very key. “We have to look again at Kevin-Prince Boateng. If he wants to play for us, then let’s go for him but if he doesn’t want to play for us, we have to forget him.”

Nyaho added: “In general, we have to reshuffle the whole team.

“Luckily goalkeeping appears not to be a problem for us now but our defence is very porous and need a lot of improvement.

“In midfield, I don’t think we are positioning the players in their right places especially Kwadwo Asamoah because he didn’t play to his full potential where they put him.

“Then we still have striking problems, we need quality strikers and the coaches must work hard on that.”
