Norris wins Coca Cola Medal Golf

Accra, May 18, GNA - Lawrence Norris returned a net score of 71 to win this month's Coca-Cola Medal Open Golf Championship played at the Achimota Golf Course in Accra on Sunday.

Nana Adjei Duku whose efforts earned him 72 net, took the second position after beating Appau Oppong on count-back, while the fourth position went to Kofi Tumi who also defeated Obeng Appiah on count-back after they both had returned 73 net score each.

In the Ladies encounter, Florence Etwi-Barimah came first with 72 net followed by Mona Myles-Lamptey at the second position with 73 net with Margaret Owusu-Baah placing fifth with 74 net. The one-day 18-Hole Stable-ford competition which was open to amateur golfers in the Greater Accra Region attracted 100 participants. Mr Mike Aggrey, Captain of the Achimota Golf Club thanked the company for the sponsorship of the competition which is expected to end in December.

He appealed to other corporate bodies to make sports sponsorship as part of their corporate social responsibilities. Miss Asmatt Commey, Tertiary Marketing Manager of Coca-Cola Equitorial Africa, was assisted captain Aggrey to present prizes to the winners.
