Lagos, Nigeria - Nigerian football fans may not be able to watch the Su per Eagles on Television when the 2008 African Cup of Nations starts in two week s ' time in Ghana, according to the Nigerian news business directory.
The Broadcasting Organisations of Nigeria (BON) say they cannot afford to buy th e rights to the tournament since the company that owns the rights is demanding 3
million euros (or US$ 4.4million).
BON says it can only offer 1.25 million euros (about US$ 1.8 million) for the rights. And this was not acceptable to the rights owners.
More than 30 per cent of Africa's TV audience for football is in Nigeria, BON sa ys.
