Spanish winger Nico Williams has revealed his desire to face his older brother Iñaki Williams at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, describing the potential matchup between Spain and Ghana as a special family moment.

The Athletic Club winger admitted that playing against his brother on football’s biggest stage would be a memorable experience, even though it could create a difficult situation for their parents.

“I don’t know if we’ll be able to meet at some point, but I would like to play against my brother ,him for Ghana and me for Spain."

“It would be a very nice duel. I think my parents would have a heart attack because they wouldn’t know who to go with," Nico Williams said.

The Williams brothers have taken different international paths despite sharing the same family roots. Nico Williams represents Spain, where he has established himself as one of the country’s most exciting attacking talents.

His elder brother, Iñaki Williams on the other hand switched allegiance to Ghana in 2022 and has since become part of the Black Stars setup.

A potential clash between Spain and Ghana at the 2026 World Cup would not only be a compelling football contest but also a rare family rivalry on the global stage.
