The much awaited 2015/16 is set to kick off on December 20, 2015.

“The Ghana Premier League will commence on December 20 but we must brace ourselves”, Nyantakyi president of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) disclosed to Kessben TV.

This will bring to an end the boardroom tussle for points from the second tier league amidst contractual disputes with headline sponsors. The new season will see two debutants and the returning Ebususa Dwarfs in a highly competitive league on the top tier.

Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kwesi Nyantakyi hinted on the proposed date for the opening round of fixtures in the 2015/16 FCPPL. The season looked set to kick off without a headline sponsor after contractual discrepancies between First Capital bank and the governing body of the league.

The traditional sixteen club league look set to be maintained with Accra Hearts Of maintaining their position as the only club to have started and finished all previous season.

Heart of lions , Great Olympics and B. A United joined the relegation bus at the end of a keenly competitive 2014/15 season. Ashgold ended their 19 years domestic hoodoo to land the prestigious trophy at stake. Dreams FC, Ebususa Dwarfs and Techieman City led their respective zones amidst boardroom tussle for promotion and demotions.
