Newcastle to confirm Christian Atsu signing today

Newcastle United is expected to confirm the signing of Ghana winger Christian Atsu today after agreeing terms on a season long loan.

The 24-year-old is expected to finalise personal terms on Tuesday on an arrangement which includes an option to buy the Ghana international outright at the end of the loan spell.

Atsu has been left frustrated after some disappointing loan spells at Everton, Bournemouth and Malaga in recent times.

He will be hoping to revive his career under the Eagle eyes of former Champions League winner Rafael Benitez who is hoping to bring back Newcastle to the English Premier League at the first time of asking.

Atsu signed for Chelsea in a £3.5m deal from Porto in 2013 but is yet to make a first-team appearance for the Blues.
