Newcastle Signs Ghanaian Player

Ghanaian youngster Frank Wiafe Danquah has signed a two-year professional contract with Newcastle United.

The 18-year-old, who holds a Dutch passport, starred for the Newcastle reserves last season and finshed as the team's top scorer.

Danquah was called in to the Newcastle squad for their final encounter of last season against Everton, but failed to secure a place on the bench for the game.

Speaking on his new contract, Danquah said, "It may have taken some time, but I finally got what I have always wanted to achieve: earn a place as player in professional football."

Danquah, who was born in Ghana, started his playing career at the Ajax Amsterdam academy, he then represented Dutch First Divsion sides FC Omniworld and AFC, before joining the Magpies
