Sulley Muntari has been training away from the rest of the Albecete squad to boost his fitness for his debut this weekend.

The Ghana international has not played competitive football since 29 April 2018 when he featured for Deportivo La Coruna in their 4-2 defeat to Barcelona in the La Liga.

He has been given a personal fitness coach to work on him so he can quickly join his new teammates.

If he is passed fit, he could be named in the squad to face Real Zaragoza on Saturday.

Muntari has joined Albecete, who play in the Spanish second-tier, for the rest of the season on a free transfer.

He joins the club with his rich experience having played for Udinese, Portsmouth, Inter Milan, AC Milan, Sunderland, Ittihad and Pescara.
