New York Red Bulls close in on KP Boateng

American club New York Red Bulls have shown interest in signing Schalke 04 midfielder Kevin Prince-Boateng.

The 28-year-old will leave the German Bundesliga club at the end of the current Bundesliga season and could suit up for the Red Bulls as soon as this summer.

The MLS giants are reported to be targeting a high profile signing to replace striker Thierry Henry.

And according to a report by the Metro‘s Kristian Dyer, the Red Bulls’ interest in Boateng is thought to be “legitimate” and have even held “some level of discussion on coming to the league and possibly signing a contract.”

Boateng has five assists in 24 appearances for Schalke this season.
