Nestle Invitational Golf at Achimota

Accra, Oct. 9, GNA - The annual Nestle Ghana Limited Invitational Golf Championship tees off at the Achimota Golf Course in Accra on Sunday, October 15.

Mr Emmanuel Kwesi Oteng-Aboagye, General Manager of the Achimota Golf Club who announced this in Accra on Sunday, said 100 amateur golfers have been invited to participate in the one-day 18-Hole Medal competition.

He said the competition, which will be played under the local rules of the Achimota Golf Club, continues to generate interest every year. Among an array of golfers expected to be seen in action include Kwame Saarah-Mensah, Captain of the Achimota Golf Club, Mike Ezan, President of the Achimota Golf Club and Michael Aggrey. Meanwhile, Neal Jackson returned a net score of 67 to win this year's J.S. Addo Seniors Golf Championship played at the Achimota Golf Course on Saturday.

He was followed in second position by Joseph Okantey with 75 net with Joseph Odei taking the third position with 78 net when he beat Paul List and Kojo Butah on count-back.

Clara Price won the Ladies event with 76 net after she beat Ama Morgan on count-back.

The competition was played to honour Mr J.S. Addo, former Governor of the Bank of Ghana and the first Board Chairman of Ecobank Ghana Limited, sponsors of the event.
