Napoli keen on signing World Cup star Andre Ayew

Italian giants Napoli believe they are inching close to signing Ghana star winger Andre Ayew, according to the latest rumours.

The 24-year-old is set to leave French Ligue 1 side Olympique Marseille this summer and the club is ready to cash in.

Napoli is reported to have made a US$13 million offer, but Marseille is yet to confirm.

If Rafael Benitez’s side are able to offload Goran Pandev, then that will pave way for his transfer to the Serie A.

But Napoli must brace themselves for a strong fight to secure his signature as fellow Serie A giants AC Milan have expressed interest.

French Ligue 1 outfit Lille and German Bundesliga side Schalke 04 are waiting in the wings to snap up the player.

Ayew scored two goals at the 2014 World Cup finals in Brazil despite Ghana’s disappointing campaign.
