Nania aim to pull off Cup shock

Nania FC are aiming to produce a massive FA Cup final shock when they meet Asante Kotoko on Sunday at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The second-tier side are in finals of the Cup competition and they would be hoping to ride against the competition's last winners, Kotoko to complete a historic feat.

Nania swept their way into the finals of the MTN sponsored competition when they defeated premiership champions, Berekum Chelsea and after a good preparation period, captain Lawrence Lartey says they will ensure Asante Kotoko end the season with no trophy to celebrate.

But defender Lartey says their win over Chelsea have boosted their confidence ahead of the final clash.

“After ending the season without a trophy, Kotoko wants to win this to appease their fans but [we] will not allow this. We will let them disappoint their fans,” he told a local radio station.

Kotoko won the last edition of the competition ten years ago in a 1-0 win over city-rivals King Faisal in Accra.
