Ghanaian football administrator Nana Yaw Amponsah has achieved great success by becoming the first Ghanaian club president to inspire his team, Petrocub, to clinch the Moldovan League title for the first time since the club's inception in 1999.

Appointed as President of Petrocub in January 2024, Nana Yaw Amponsah, the former CEO of Asante Kotoko, has been instrumental in the club's success.

His leadership has seen the club rise to new heights, ending Sheriff Tiraspol's eight-year reign at the top of the league.

The Ghanaian trio of David Abagna, Razak Abalora, and Seidu Basit have also been instrumental in Petrocub's stellar campaign, contributing significantly to the team's performance.

Their efforts have not only earned the club domestic glory but also booked a spot in the UEFA Champions League.

The feat presents a golden opportunity for Petrocub to compete on Europe's big stage for the first time.

Nana Yaw Amponsah's journey in football administration has been marked by a series of impressive achievements.

Before his current role, he served as the Chief Executive Officer of Asante Kotoko, leading them to league success in 2022.

He also founded Division One side Phar Rangers and ran for the presidency of the Ghana Football Association in 2019.

Beyond his role as President, Nana Yaw Amponsah is also the majority shareholder of Petrocub.
