Nana Fitz appeals for calm between GFA and Sports Ministry

Veteran football administrator Nana Fitz has elected himself to mediate the tension between the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Ghana Football Association.

A letter signed by deputy minister Vincent Oppong Asamoah back in May warned the Ghana FA after they were not informed about a friendly against Japan.

The Sports Ministry has ordered the Football Association to involve them in all memoranda, contracts; regarding the Black Stars and all national teams.

This has highlighted the frosty relationship between the two bodies and Fitz fears this could affect football in the country.

"I want to avail myself to help settle this issue to ensure peace between the FA and the ministry just as I did some time ago when there was total confusion within the GOC," the former Kumasi Cornerstones chairman told Graphic Sports.

"Ghana football would still exist when these men at the helm of affairs are out of the scene.

"My main concern is to ensure a good image for the country because the minister and the FA president will one day go but the country would still remain."
