Ghana’s Nadia Eke failed to make it to the final of the women’s triple jump at the ongoing IAAF World Athletics Championships in London.

Her longest jump of 13.54m on Saturday after a red-flagged first attempt and a 13.25m jump in her second attempt in Group B was not enough to get her a place in the final.

Her jump did not meet the qualifying mark of 14.20 and it comes 0.39 short of her personal best. Kazakhstan’s Olga Rypakova qualified from the group with a jump of 14.57m in only her first attempt.

She was joined by Portugal’s Patricia Mamona (14.29), Germany’s Kristin Gierisch (14.25), Jamaica’s Shanieka Ricketts (14.21) and Colombia’s Caterine Ibarguen as the straight qualifiers from Group B.

They join the likes of Yulima Rojas and Susana Costa, who made it out of Group A. The final is set for Monday.
