NSC Re-constitutes Regional Athletics Association

The Brong Ahafo Rgional Sports Council under the supervision of its new development officer Mr. Edward Ekow Wilson has re-constituted the athletics association for the region in order to unearth new talents to the benefit of the region and the nation.

Speaking to the regional development officer at his office today, he said the association has been there for some time now but was not functioning well has he said has cost the region a lot undisclosed talented athletes for the benefit of the region and the nation as a whloe.

Mr. Edward Ekow wilson who was an athlete during his hay days said,since assuming office as the new officer in-charge of sports for the region he is going to make sure that that neglected sports disciplines also becomes known in this region.

The 10-member committee forming the association is made up of those with fair knowledge in that sector of sports, retired athletes,active ones,educationistsand mediamen. They include,

Mr.Samuel Addo-Head coach for Sunyani Polythenic

Mr.E Henneh-Regional P.E Co-ordinator,Ghana Education Service

Mrs Comfort Asante- sportsmistress Sunyani senior high school

Mr.Kingsley Abrokwah-Municipal P.E.Co-ordinator,Sunyani

Kusi Aborah ----who is a retired athlete representing the retired athletes in the region

Thomas Boakye is a student of Sunyani Polythenic and also an active athlete

ASP SS Latebu represening the Ghana Police Service

DSP Ernest Akotuah from the Prisons Service who is the current head coach of former premiership side B A UTD.

Mr.Kwaku Adjei Richard from ARK FM representing the media whilst Mrs.Ruth Quarcoe is the secretary.

The association holds its maiden meeting on the 29th october.2008 at the office of the Regional Sports Development Officer at exactly 10am.
