Muntari Returns To Training

Ghana’s preparation for the 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifiers next month has been handed a boost after Sulley Muntari returned to training on Tuesday.

The 27-year-old-who spent the second half of the season on loan at AC Milan-suffered a thigh injury and was a major doubt.

Muntari was assertive in Tuesday morning’s training session at the Accra Sports Stadium as he scaled and did not complain of any pains.

He returns to the team on a rich vein of form for the Rossoneri where he scored three goals in 13 Serie A matches.

His experience will be beneficial to a new-look Black Stars team without tried and tested quartet Asamoah Gyan, Andre Ayew, John Mensah and John Pantsil.

Muntari has been elected captain of the team for next month’s matches against Lesotho and Zambia.
