Ongoing works at the multi-purpose youth center, in Ho, Volta Region, is 64% complete and will be handed over to the Ministry of Youth and Sports, within schedule.

Mr. William Dogbe, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Wilkado Construction Company Limited said, the 10,000 capacity youth and resource center, would be completed within the stipulated time, though there were challenges with heavy downpours.

Mr. Dogbe made this known when Mr. Isaac Kwame Asiamah, Minister of Youth and Sports inspected the progress of work at the center, which would have a FIFA standard pitch, eight-lane tartan tracks, ICT center, gymnasium, handball court, basketball court, tennis court, entrepreneurship center, and a modern restaurant.

“We would be able to meet the deadline for this project because much of the work has been done.

“We are left with plastering, dressing, filing, laying of some pipes at some points and some minor tidy ups,” he said.

Mr Dogbe, debunked rumors that the delay in work was to lack of funds.

“It is never true, work delayed due to lack of funds, we have been paid and we are only focused on seeing this project completed within the nine months given”.

The multi-purpose youth centers being built across all ten regions is aimed at creating an enabling environment to unearth talents and harness them for Ghana, which would also add up to the infrastructural development of the country.
