Mortagbe’s case is bad – Nyaho Tamakloe

Hearts of Oak board member Dr Nyaho Tamakloe has revealed that alleged wrongdoings by interdicted managing director Neil Amstrong-Mortagbe are damaging and severe.

The club told the FIFA marketing consultant to step aside for him to be investigated by a three-member committee chaired by Justice Ivy Howard-Mils.

“… I personally don’t think he will return because just the surface got all of us surprised and startled so the report might come out with something more frightening which we are yet to see,” Dr Tamakloe told Joy sports in Accra.

“We had complaints some from the public and the media houses that there had been a lot of things going on at the secretariat which we were told the MD himself was involved and that was very disturbing to say the least.

“We were shocked and I don’t think any member of the Board expected this from him and I think it has thought us a big lesson and I think in future we will know how to go about certain appointments and placing people at certain positions as far as the club is concerned,” he added.

Mortagbe is accused of using the club’s letterhead in an illegal visa application scandal.

This resulted in his arrest and was sent to the Darkuman Police station only to be bailed by a fellow Hearts board member.

Mortagbe came under scrutiny after how a US$ 1,000 gift from a club sympathizer to captain Moro Abubakar was paid in two installments within three months when he should have paid the then injured midfielder the cash. He was appointed in July last year.
