Monaco stall on Nyarko deal

French outfit Monaco are trying to get Everton to reduce their asking price to ?2million for on-loan midfielder Alex Nyarko. Nyarko quit Everton in disgrace after asking Blues boss Walter Smith for a substitution when attacked by a fan in a game at Arsenal.

Since his arrival at Monaco on loan, the Ghana international has been a revelation, commanding a regular place in the starting line-up and getting on the scoresheet on numerous occasions.

But Monaco are trying to half the asking price from ?4million, down to just ?2million for a permanent move to France, and The Blues reluctance to sell for a knock-down fee could open the door to possible interest from Smith's former club Glasgow Rangers.

French giants Paris St Germain and Italian side Parma were also believed to be watching Nyarko's impressive performances in the Principality earlier this season.
