Mole – mole stand in deplorable state

Mr. Osei Owusu, the Emergency Medical Technician of the National Ambulance Service, has expressed grave concern about the deplorable condition of the Mole - mole stand of the Osagyefo Oseadeyo Agyemang Badu, the First, Sports Stadium in the Dormaa Municipality, describing it as a “death trap and life threatening to sports enthusiasts and soccer fans”.

He called for the immediate closure of the stand to members of the public, since its current conditions posed a looming threat to life and property, particularly the numerous football loving fans who patronize the facility on weekly basis, for the on-going First Capital Plus Premier League, to save lives and prevent needless injuries.

Speaking in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Dormaa – Ahenkro, he said several attempts to draw the attention of authorities to address the problem had failed, and consequently warned of a looming danger if they failed to heed the call to immediately put the stand in good shape.

“The woods on the stand are not in good condition. Children particularly should not be allowed to sit on the stand. I had to drive all the children away from the stand,” he added.

Many of the woods on the stand are peeled off, weak, and broken with cracks, sharp rusty nails stick out through the woods making it very unpleasant and risky to sit on.

Lots of children and some members of the public daringly sat on the stand to witness the Dormaa municipal commemoration of the 58th Independence Anniversary Parade which was marked at the Osagyefo Oseadeyo Agyemang Badu, the first, Sports Stadium.
