Neil Armstrong-Mortagbe Neil Armstrong-Mortagbe

The Former Managing Director cum renowned marketing and business development expert of Accra Hearts of Oak, Mr Neil Armstrong-Mortagbe has said that domestic football clubs are better off with minimised attendance than empty stadia when the government lifts the ban on football.

“If Accra sports stadium could ordinarily take 40,000 as full capacity, it could be configured to take 5000 or 10,000 according to the social distancing protocols in place and have the right hygiene around the stadium or use a stand or two so as not to spread resources and minimise loses,” Mr Armstrong-Mortagbe said.

He made the call in an interview with Class Sports’ show Game Plan in Accra.

Mr Armstrong-Mortagbe stated that playing football without fans at the stadium is not the best and will be extremely tough on the finances of various clubs.

“Playing behind closed doors is a very dangerous thing to run,” he pronounced

The former MD urged Accra Hearts of Oak fans to be resolute and unite.

“We need to rise above our differences and challenges and concerns and remember the lifeblood of Hearts of Oak is its supporters and chapters and without that, the club struggles” he stated.
