Milo Marathon winners receive prizes

Winneba (Central Region) --- Two junior secondary school students at Winneba were on Tuesday presented with prizes they won during the National Milo Marathon race held in Accra last October.

Miss Mary Esi Mensah, a 15-year-old student of Winneba D/C JSS, who came first in the competition, received 600,000 cedis while 13-year-old

Miss Adwoa Wommedzi of the Presbyterian JSS received 200,000 cedis for placing third.

Mr Frank Swanzy Essien, Awutu-Effutu-Senya District Director of Education, commended the children for carving an excellent image for their parents and the district as a whole.

He promised the girls that they would receive a special bursary and training equipment from the district directorate of the Ghana Education Service (GES) and the district assembly to encourage them to train hard.

Mr Essien, on behalf of the parents and the GES, expressed appreciation to Nestle Ghana Limited for providing the awards.
