Mighty Jets will have to contend with a resilient Dwarfs side at the Accra Stadium in one of this weekend’s Saturday fixtures.

Dwarfs have been consistently good, with one of the best defensive records this season. “We know they have not conceded a goal yet. That kind of record does not come easily and we need to break it,” Daniel Larbie, spokesperson for Jets told SuperSport.com.

The Accra-based side is going through a transition after Foster Alhassan only took over a fortnight ago. The former Real Sportive boss’s style is to hold ball while being aggressive, but his side are yet to show those qualities in his two games in charge.

“Even though we won my first game in charge, I had not known the team that well and I said so afterwards. Last week’s loss to Edubiase came from a lapse we had. We just have to avoid that.”

Jets succumbed to the instincts of Edubiase’s league top scorer Emmanuel Baffour in the 77th minute last week. Dwarfs strength lay in their wing-play, with Seidu Bancey and William Insaidoo doing the most damage on the wings.

Jets should start Kofi Owusu this time, after he came off the bench last week to little effect. Winfred Dormon would start upfront and may partner Isaac Owusu or Frank Osei. Whatever Jets do, a win against fifth-placed Dwarfs’ would be a major victory in their ambition to stay in the league.

Larbi noted: “We are eleventh at the moment and that position is not far from the bottom. We need to start scoring and winning soon.”
