Midweek Matches Today

The Penultimate matches for the final round matches of the first half of the season will be played today. Six duels are scheduled to be honoured, the main characters of the drama, Accra Hearts of Oak and Kumasi Asante Kotoko, will engage in some predictable home and away assignments respectively.

At their Accra Stadium stronghold, Hearts who are still yet to drop a point in 13 games will have a cool "chop" when they play host to lowly-placed Mine Stars. Even though Kotoko will confront a seemingly tougher challenge from Maxbees at Koforidua, they still appear to be the likely favourites in that encounter.

Great Olympics who were nearly overtaken by events last Sunday during their home match against Arsenals will definitely have to buck up if they dream of getting any point against Hasaacas at the Sekondi Gyandu Park.

The Hasmal boys, led by good old Kofi Abbrey, proved how dangerous they could be on a good day when they returned from Koforidua on Sunday with a shocking 2-0 victory over Power FC.

At the Kumasi Stadium, King Faisal will be presented with a fine opportunity to add three more points to their pile in their game against Power FC while Dawu Youngsters will again be inspired by crisis-management expert coach, J.E.Sarpong, to pick their second straight win when they host RTU at Dawu .

The Sunyani Coronation Park will be another exciting battlefield as it witnesses the crucial derby involving bitter city rivals, B.A. United and Bofoakwa Tano.

On paper, B.A. United appear to have the edge in this encounter as, quite apart from current form, the "Apostles of Power Soccer" have had the upperhand in recent clashes between them.

Tomorrow at the Accra Stadium, it will be the turn of Liberty Professionals and Obuasi Goldfields to battle for supremacy in their close contest.

Yesterday, at the Cape Coast Siwdu Park, local fans who have missed premier league action for a couple of seasons, had a good taste to relish as Arsenals serve their two-match home ban with a match against Okwawu United.... results will be available soon

The sanction by the Professional League Board (PLB) has rendered this encounter quite open as either side will have an equal chance to win the day in this battle on neutral grounds.
