Middle-aged man wins cross country race

Benso, (W/R), April 9, GNA - A 52-year-old worker of Benso Oil Palm Plantations Limited (BOPP), Osman Nuhu came first in a cross-country race organized to climax the second annual 'Vitality Day' Celebration of BOPP at Benso in the Western Region.

Nuhu clocked a time of 21 min. 33 secs in the six kilometer race which attracted a field of 305 competitors from BOPP. The champion took home GH¢50.00 and three tins of Milo and milk. Daniel Andoh, 48 and Alex Tandoh 19, took the second and third positions respectively and also took home GH¢35.00 three tins of Milo and milk and GH¢20.00 three tins of Milo and milk respectively. Mr Samuel Avaala, Estate Manager of BOPP and Mr Harrison Adu-Agyei, Human Resource Manager jointly presented prizes to the winners and congratulated the participants for taking part in the keenly contested race.

He said exercises enhance the individual's life span and advised the workers to undertake regular exercises to increase their life span. 9 April 08
